I figured since all this site's traffic seems to be centralizing in small talk, I'd try to spark some conversation that actually relates to paintball, which is why we are all here.
Anyways, so what's your paintball history?
How did you get into the game, how long, what type, tourny experience, and aything else that applies.
I started when I was 15, most of the people I talk to at school had just started playing, and the topic of discussion was predominately paintball, so when they invited me to play, I decided to give it a shot, if for anything then to at least be a part of the discussions.
Someone let me borrow his Spyder because he couldn't go that day, and everyone else had something I can use, even paint(yay, free paintball!) so I was all set for the day. In the first game, I had runbehind a pile of leaves and waited patiently for some hapless opponant to wander by. When one did, I popped up and fired one shot hitting him squarely in the shoulder(Ha! One shot, one kill!) and from then I was hooked.
For my 16th birthday, I got my first paintball gun, a Piranha BL G3 and my days of borrowing and renting were over. Over the next couple years, I've been a casual player, going once every couple weeks, I had gradually upped my Piranha and performed well for my level of play.
This summer, however, I really started getting into paintball, going almost every weekend and multiple times a week on occasion, I even joined new team who was looking to get into the local tourny scene. At this point I figured it's time to retire my Fishy and look into something higher end than my trusty little blowback, and it just so happens that the new Ion was just released, and I was very skeptical. When I got a chance to use one in game, I was convinced it was the gun for me, (and we still live happily ever after, btw) and that I was ready to try my first tourny.
Our team ended up finishing 5th, a rookie mistake just barely keeping us out of the semifinals. We went home with the learning experience, but alas, college was about to seperate our team. Luckily one of my teammates goes to college fairly close to me and a field, so we're going to practice together when we get the chance, but this upcoming summer we plan go back into the local scene and make our presence felt.
